Parliamentarians are well placed to support efforts to achieve a ban on nuclear weapons. Here are some things you could ask them to do:
- Introduce a motion: Get your local parliamentarian, or a cross-party group of parliamentarians, to sponsor a motion calling on your government to support negotiations for a nuclear weapons ban.
- Ask questions: In some national legislatures, members of parliament have the opportunity to ask ministers questions about government policy. What does your government intend to do to achieve a ban?
- Introduce legislation: Some national parliaments have adopted legislation prohibiting nuclear weapons or government investments in companies that produce nuclear weapons. Has your parliament?
