10 seconds is all it takes

To mark Nuclear Abolition Day in 2012, ICAN released this video highlighting the continuing threat of 19,000 nuclear weapons in the world.

It takes just 10 seconds for the fireball from a nuclear explosion to reach its maximum size and create a humanitarian catastrophe. ICAN is calling on non-nuclear-armed countries – the vast majority of the world’s states – to lead a process to rid the world of these weapons of mass destruction.
